Setenta e um can\u00e1rios da terra em situa\u00e7\u00e3o de maus-tratos foram resgatados de um criador ilegal nessa quarta-feira em Te\u00f3filo Otoni, no Vale do Mucuri, no leste de Minas Gerais. De acordo com a Pol\u00edcia Militar do Meio Ambiente, as aves foram encontradas durante uma fiscaliza\u00e7\u00e3o que apurava den\u00fancias de maus-tratos a c\u00e3es. Ao chegarem ao endere\u00e7o, os militares encontraram 63 gaiolas com 71 can\u00e1rios da terra, aves nativas e protegidas por lei, sem anilha de identifica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Ainda de acordo com a Pol\u00edcia Militar, as gaiolas estavam sujas, sem \u00e1gua limpa e alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o insuficiente. Quatro can\u00e1rios mortos foram encontrados no local. Tamb\u00e9m foram encontradas armadilhas, al\u00e7ap\u00f5es e caixas usadas para transportar os animais.<\/p>\n

O propriet\u00e1rio da casa de 71 anos disse aos policiais que j\u00e1 havia atuado como criador regularizado de aves silvestres, mas que desde 2018 n\u00e3o vinha fazendo os pagamentos de licen\u00e7as e n\u00e3o tinha nenhuma documenta\u00e7\u00e3o que autorizasse a cria\u00e7\u00e3o dos animais. Ele foi autuado por maus-tratos, cria\u00e7\u00e3o ilegal de animais silvestres e posse de equipamentos de captura de animais. O valor das multas chegou a mais de 136 mil reais.<\/p>\n

A Pol\u00edcia Militar informou que as condi\u00e7\u00f5es de sa\u00fade das aves foram avaliadas e, como elas apresentavam condi\u00e7\u00f5es de serem devolvidas \u00e0 natureza, foram levadas para uma \u00e1rea de mata e libertadas. As gaiolas, as armadilhas e os al\u00e7ap\u00f5es foram levados para um aterro sanit\u00e1rio na cidade e destru\u00eddos conforme prev\u00ea a legisla\u00e7\u00e3o.\u00a0<\/p>\n
